About Us
We’re Movie People
The Movie Institute is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that empowers young people with career development and positive character growth. We mentor and train kids for success by producing professional-level films and videos for businesses, charities, individuals… and sometimes just for fun.
Art With Purpose
There’s a serious method behind all this madness. We’re a launchpad for anyone curious about, or seriously interested in a career in video and film production. We build teamwork and leadership skills that help people find successful and rewarding careers. We mentor those who are interested and talented in motion media careers for success in the industry. And we create professional content as a training tool for both adults and kids.
Our Mission
The Movie Institute is dedicated to the training of life and leadership skills in young people and adults through the creativity and discipline of the motion media arts and sciences.
Our Vision
Our vision is for a community filled with people leading productive and successful lives.
History
The Movie Institute was founded by Keith Randal Duncan with co-founder Martha Duncan in the year 2000. Our flagship program, Kamp Hollywood moviemaking summer camp has produced graduates who used their experience and training to get into acclaimed post-secondary schools such as NYU, SMU, UCLA, Cal-Arts, Columbia University, and USC Film Schools. Based in Collin County Texas, we are expanding our program offerings and scope to better serve the community in North Texas.
